Liegestelle

We were still shaken when we reached the town of Recke, which we had sailed for almost 8 hours and over 90km to reach.

The harbor did not look very inviting. Possibly we had become a little paranoid because we also did not think it seemed deep enough for our 1,5m draft.

A nice big English motorboat, which we had been lying behind for a while, passed the harbor. We did the same. Shortly afterwards, the Englishman turned into a "liegestelle fur Kleinfarzeuge." We have seen some of them. Accommodation is free here, but there are no facilities either.

The English - a married couple our age - had decided to spend the night there. We decided to do the same and lay down a little in front of them.

We talked a little with our new neighbors.

They had been sailing on the canals in Germany for a few months and were now on their way back to the winter port of Holland. They knew Münster well, which was our next destination and recommended us to go to the marina Alte Fahrt Fuestrup.

We told them about our close contact with the bottom. They both shrugged lightly when they heard no water penetrating or cracks or cracks in the bottom.

Before it got dark another motor boat came and moored for the night.
