Thanks for the nice report. We bought a Columbie 451 ds on Samos. Starts on a trip to Gibraltar d 1 July with a circumnavigation of the earth in mind. Have you declared and declared in each EULand or do you know how it goes?
We wish you both good luck in 2021 and look forward to good news again.

Hi Birger,

Congratulations on your new boat. It is a lovely boat that you will surely be happy with.

No special declarations and declarations must be made when you, as an EU citizen, call at another EU country.

Greece is special. Here, yachtsmen (regardless of nationality) are charged a fee for sailing in Greek waters. The fee is called Tepai and must be paid for the period the boat is used in Greek waters. If it is taken ashore, no tax must be paid and if it is stored in a marina, no tax must be paid. In the latter case, the boat's papers are deposited with the local port police.

Much has been written about how cumbersome it is to pay Tepai. But the tax can also be paid online. It's a lot easier. (if you do it right). We have spent a lot of time figuring out why the payment did not go through, Finally we found the solution. You can see it here Click here...

Hello Allan,

Nice to hear from you. We have been ´groundet´ in Denmark since October and hope that the world will return to (a new?) Normal soon. We do not yet know when we will return to Greece. Some could suggest that it will not be until sometime in August. Ku´be nice to meet before

Hi thanks for the report, but it is not clear where the boat was on land.
We are just on our way to Aktio Preveza to look at our boat, just a short trip.

Hi Steen,

Thanks for your mail. You can be completely calm. Heron landed on a place on the mainland opposite Corfu. We have just landed at Aktio Marina.

It is difficult to guard against a burglary like the one we were exposed to and when it happens you should (rightly) be able to expect support from the company you have paid money to store your boat (even if they are not responsible for damage and theft to the boat).

I'm pretty sure Aktio Marina would have approached the matter differently if this was where the burglary had taken place.

Heron is also on lane 8
