After 5 days of recreation, we went home on the boat. (We actually say home about the boat now).
Heron had gradually become a regular part of the harbor picture in Tuborg Harbor and during our stay we had met other long-distance sailors.
When we came back they were gone.
Thue and Martina had sailed to Dragør a few days before. There they lay waiting for the wind to blow in the northwest, so that they could get a stern cross over Køge Bay on their trip south.
Dave - the American who had been waiting for 2 weeks for a good weather forecast to sail his brand new Hallberg-Rassy to Rotterdam, from where it was to take a freighter to Boston, had apparently found a weather window. At least he was gone.
It was cold, windy, the leaves on the trees had turned dark green, the bright nights were over and on Facebook Marie Stender wrote that she had just been to Falsterbo and seen birds on autumn migrations.
But the weather forecast was with us and announced that a high pressure from the south was on its way.
On Wednesday, we woke up to the sun, heat and even wind and decided to sail to Chr. Harbor Channel and spend a few days there.
When we got out of the harbor we put the genoa on, turned off the engine, enjoyed the whipped cream sailing (we call it sailing without waves in even winds) and reached almost a little too fast the Lightning Race.
Pia was a helmsman and to the undivided enthusiasm of a German "man boat" we made a perfect diversion to the waiting quay at Trangravsbroen with an 8m / s wind in from the stern.
The channel was filled up with German guest seamen and we were lucky to find a free space just after the bridge.
It was hot and as we sat in the sun in the cockpit it was as if summer had suddenly returned.
Lovely to hear 🙂 KH Michael
Lovely Update. The best thoughts from here
Pia & Carl, it's good with a little air change and Christianshavn is great at this time of year, not quite as full as in high season and a nice environment with good cover for wind and weather.
We are looking forward to continuing your business.
We are now in Dyvig - take a couple of days break in Hamburg and next week I will sail a little with Anne Cathrine here locally.
